During today's class session, my lecturer Kevin introduced me to a renowned sound designer know as Ben Berts and after watching Ben Berts discuss the sound effect created for the film Walle, I made note of incredibly useful advice and terminology,
Moreover, I collected a number of production videos from two game development companies Rocksteady and Sucker Punch. From what I managed to collect both sound design teams displayed a creative and efficient use of foley sounds.
I decided to focus on the work of John Roesch a foley artist who worked on the sounds effects for Batman Arkham City. From what I observed they preferred to use traditional techniques compared to creating digital effects I imagine to produce a more realistic and organic sound.
The Arkham city team preferred to use analogue sound effects and my lecturer Kevin pointed out that they recorded one sound in 24 channels.
Moreover, as I re-familiarized myself with Adobe Audition and layered several foley sounds I recorded in the past and last weeks class session. In addition, while I listened to a collection of the vehicle and other electronic sounds I recorded I began to conceive a concept for my final audio piece which may consist of recording more industrial and engine sounds in order to create a sound piece depicting the atmosphere of a robot factory or starship factory most likely from Star Wars on the planet Corellia which would also be an excellent concept to work on.
